New Music from Sydney’s Daniel Mountain Impresses🎶
Multi instrumentalist Daniel Mountain is a Sydney based music producer working out of his home studio in the Blue Mountains. Cutting his teeth in punk, metal, indie and country bands, as well as a Sydney club scene DJ, he started working on his love of instrumental electronic hip-hop influenced by artists such as Blockhead, El Michael\’92s Affair, J Dilla and Aim.
Creating his own sound with influences of soul, electronic, hip-hop, downbeat, he has self-produced, performed, mixed and mastered his debut album \’93Year One\’94, utilising the DIY aesthetic of his punk roots. Daniel Mountain has moved away from playing in live bands to teaching himself music production and playing every instrument on the album himself. This album consists of 14 tracks made in the first year of his music production career. Daniel Mountain\’92s sound and style moves throughout the album, from early breakbeats, hip-hop motifs, through to experimental elements, to lo-fi, soul with horns and heavy guitars.

🎶 Discover New Album: Daniel Mountain’s Sonic Memoir “Year One” ✨
With “Year One,” Daniel Mountain has a deep immersive journey through the mountain IDM, electronic texture, and the shape of low-fi-hip-hop beats. Each track flows like a chapter in a large sonic memoir – water, emotional, and beautifully textured. The entire album has an indifferent energy pulsing, yet it remains freshly modern. Mountain crafts his sound with a spontaneous balance between crafts, minimalism and depth, and laying soft rhythm with the tunes of the environment that calms the mind by sparking moments of introspection
This is more than the collection of the first offering beats – this is a focused experience that invites the audience to stop and reflect. Whether you are working, being uncontrolled, or wandering through thought, “Year One” serves as a rich background for both meditation and emotion. Daniel Mountain displays remarkable artistry, transforming simplicity into some honesty. For fans of intimate equipment and style-mammary sounds, this record is a hidden gem that is worth finding.
