THROES NYC: Dark Alt-Pop Music from New York
THROES NYC is the creative partnership of multi-instrumentalist and producer Michael Bozzo and vocalist Courtney Leo, two Queens, New York natives who have been making music together since childhood. Drawing from the gritty energy of NYC’s ’90s and ’00s scene, the duo blends dark alt-pop, trip-hop, electronic textures, and cinematic production.

THROES NYC: “The Wires Out” Creates a Bold Sound
THROES NYC steps into unusual territory with The Wires Out, an EP that still refuses to sit in internal unmarried style. Threads of alt-rock grit weave through pop hooks, while up-rock textures and avant-garde electronic twists infuse the sound into something more atmospheric than the average crossover Deliberately, it often looks cinematic, as if the initiative was made to feel like movement against the analyzed track
What puts out the most is the emotional undertow jogging beneath the experiment. The trip-hop rhythm sequences have just enough theme to allow a wave of nostalgia to settle in, giving the electronic pop moments real weight rather than gloss. It’s a challenge that rewards patience — the kind of EP that famous new levels focus on 2nd or 1/3. With The Wires Out, THROES NYC proves that genre-mixing doesn’t mean needing to drop cognition; that means it is able to find a new one.
