I did the song “Don’t Wanna Lose This” on repeat and this is the look of the track that sneaks up on you. Ronald Hage mixes dwelling, trance and pop in a way that feels spacious without trying too hard. The female vocals carry a slight warmth, and they sit right on top of a beat that just keeps building until Simply takes over. It’s polished, sure, yet it nonetheless has that dancefloor electricity that makes you want to be transported rather than just concentrated.
What really gets me is how the music captures that feeling of not allowing anything good across. Easy, but it hits. The chorus opens in this exuberant second that feels earned, not forced. Nothing about the construction feels cluttered either, everything has breathing room. If you’re into dance pop with an actual coronary heart on the back of it, this one is worth adding to your playlist. Ronald Hage really knows how to make a song that’s true from start to finish.
