🎵 New Sunday’s Unique Music Journey
New Sunday is a studio band from Hafnarfjordur, Iceland, founded in January 2026 by songwriter Einar Askelsson, who transformed personal trauma into musical artistry. What began as Einar’s battle with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder became an unexpected journey into songwriting when his therapist encouraged him to find something to fight for during recovery. Each morning, he picked up his guitar to combat debilitating anxiety, and what started as a therapeutic exercise evolved into an obsession with music and poetry.
Now a selftaught musician with a distinctive approach to composition, Einar has built New Sunday as a collaborative project, bringing together vocalist Elizabet “Lizzie” and producer Simon. Though the trio has never met in person, they maintain constant communication and have developed a unique sound through their partnership, with each member bringing essential artistic freedom to the creative process.
