The Generation: Washington, DC Punk Pop & New Music
Hailing from Washington, DC, The Generation‘s melodic, punky pop sound — Wowwerpop, if you will — emanated from the legendary 1980s scene in the U.S. nation’s capital. The Generation’s members are inextricably meshed with Modest Proposal and The Mondays!

The Generation – “Don’t Know About You” | New Music
The Generation returns with “Don’t Know About You,” a lively and melodic slice of power-pop that’s instantly familiar but refreshingly alive with shimmering guitars, an irresistible hook, and a warm male vocal sitting at the heart of the track, even as the harmonies nod gracefully to The Beatles and The Beach Boys It feels carefully balanced, giving the music a sunny, melancholy glow that lifts the temper from the first real listen.
What makes this release special is how it blends the energy of 80s rock with the playful feel of indie and pop-punk, adding a legitimate to this unfashionable strength and modern-day. Unfashionable guitar tones confidently press the song forward, while the catchy melodies live on in your head long after the last chord. It’s the kind of tune that suits sunny drives, late-night playlists, and the whole thing in between. Fans of melodic pop rock and occasion rock are sure to discover a loving crowd here. Concentrate on Spotify or YouTube, and allow the good vibes to take over.
