Delta of Venus Releases Emotional “Disengaged & Slipping”🎶

Delta of Venus

🎸 The Birth of Delta of Venus: Indie Rock Beginnings

Delta of Venus began in a basement practice room in 1993 when three friends decided to start a band, but with one caveat- they would choose instruments they couldn’t play. Dawn Estabrooks hadn’t picked up a guitar in five years, and wasn’t much a player at that time. Mat Tarbox had been cutting teeth in the Mystic, Ct indie scene as a vocalist for years, but was now going to play bass guitar. Ellery Twining walked out from behind his drum set, where he sat with local group 17 Relics for years, he would pick up the guitar as well.

In 1996, a seven inch single recorded at Waterworks Studio in NYC,was released, and they began to ply their trade in the indie rock micro corridor between NYC and Providence RI. In1997, the band wrote and recorded a full- length nine song album “Make Yrself Xtra Special” at one of the first digital demo rooms in Mystic. After the full length album failed to gain additional traction, “real” world concerns ended the band in Autumn 1997.
