Deltastray’s “Salted Wounds n Sugar Lies” Album Review 🎸

Deltastray‘s Salted Wounds n Sugar Lies is a gritty, road-worn record that holds its blues rock roots proudly while never losing its classic rock swagger. From the opening rasp of “One Eye on the Exit” to the weary crawl of “Gravel in My Boots,” the album moves like a late-night drive with the windows down, all dust, whiskey, heartbreak and male vocals carrying real texture, cracking where necessary, giving each line of regret and defiance the weight it deserves. Tracks like “Smoky n Ragged” and “Rust in My Halo” lean into that classic rock grit, built on riffs that feel lived-in rather than polished.

What makes this record stand out is its authenticity. “The Devil’s Last Apology” and “Echoes Don’t Beg Forgiveness” hit hardest, pairing raw guitar work with lyrics that don’t waver from the pain as the closing title track promises in the album’s name that sweetness and bite finally meet in full. At ten songs and fifty-two minutes, Deltastray delivers a confident, soulful record that rewards a full, uninterrupted listen.
