Map of the Woulds: Experimental Rock and New Music

Map of the Woulds are a genre-defying rock band from Seattle, Washington, embracing an eclectic approach that blends avant-garde pop, funky progressive rock, psychedelic textures, dark jazz, angular riffs, and unexpected bursts of funk. Featuring Woody Frank on guitar and vocals, Andrew Woods on bass and vocals, and Adrian Woods on a homemade drum kit and vocals, the band thrives on creative freedom, welcoming unconventional ideas and musical experimentation into their sound.

🎸 Map of the Woulds – “Only For Today” Review

I ended up putting on “Only For Today” while making espresso and standing in the kitchen until the ultimate sound faded. Map of the Woulds blends indie and alternative rock with a traditional rock backbone, and looks like an ancient favorite you’re assembly for primary time The guitars are brilliant and unhurried, the drums have an easy, consistent swing, nothing sounds pressed. You can inform these guys en masse like gambling, and rightly so that resentment is contagious.

Then the voice comes on, and it gets me right into it. The male voice is heat and a touch rough around the rims, as the chum tells you something he must be polite. It’s catchy with out being flashy, and I stuck myself humming the melody for hours afterwards. If you adore rock with a coronary heart, a touch of nostalgia, and a present indie glow, this one’s an easy yes. Turn it up, roll down the living room windows and enjoy the moment.
