Teena‘s brand-new album, I Am Too Famous, is a wonderful explosion of Eurovision-flavoured pop that refuses to sit still. At 11 tracks and just over thirty-five minutes, she moves easily between slick electronic pop, commercial dance songs, and vocal-driven ballads, stitching them together with a wink and complete confidence. Songs like the title track and “I’m Not Afraid” strut with theatrical flair, while “Life Without You” slows down just enough to take your breath away before the next hook lands. Teena clearly knows how to build a party without losing emotional depth.

What makes this album exciting is how proudly it holds its LGBTQ identity, especially on the fearless, big-hearted “Your Son Is Gay,” an outstanding moment of joy and defiance.
