50mething: Authentic Music With Soulful Roots 🎶

50mething is an independent artist from Ealing, England, who maintains complete creative control over his music, working solo through every stage of production until the final mix and master. Drawing inspiration from legends like Prince and Stevie Wonder, he crafts his recordings in the intimate setting of wherever he calls home, prioritizing songwriting fundamentals—lyrics, melody, and chord progressions—over production gimmicks.

His approach is refreshingly authentic and stripped-back, focusing on the emotional core of each track rather than studio effects. With a philosophy that “you’re only as good as your last release,” 50mething continuously pushes himself to evolve and explore new creative territory, ensuring each project represents his best work.

50mething: “Dirty Feeling” Brings Soulful Indie Vibes 🎧

“Dirty Feeling” using 50mething doesn’t want to catch you right away, and that’s kind of the factor. The tune is comfortable with this led-returned, indie-meets-R&B experience and just breathes on our own. Nothing presumably makes the production feel rushed or overdone. It’s more like resentment settling on you, the form of a song to your word creeping into your head hours after you hear it.

What certainly stands out is how authentic it sounds. The vocals are not polished to perfection, and that works within the selection of music. There is a rawness to the transportation that makes the vulnerability feel real instead of executed. The occasion pop area maintains things getting too heavy, at the same time as the soul effect provides a whole lot of weight below. It’s not music made for one hook or one big moment anymore. It was built to take a seat with you, and it does. “Dirty Feeling” looks like something meant 50mething true, not just something written to sound exact, and that’s what makes it worth replaying.
