🎸 Blackfire: Powerful New Music from Prince George
Hailing from Prince George, Canada, Blackfire emerged in early 2026 as a powerful collaboration between songwriter and musician Young and bassist Jason Harasti. Their partnership extends back to 1995, when the duo first connected through numerous underground garage bands, forging a friendship that has weathered extraordinary challenges.
Young’s journey through unimaginable trauma, PTSD, depression, and substance abuse, combined with Harasti’s battle against stage 3 cancer, has shaped the authentic foundation of their music. After years away from songwriting, Young rediscovered music as a form of therapy during PTSD treatment, transforming personal pain into creative expression.

Blackfire – “Come Back”: Raw Hard Rock Energy
I’ll be honest, “Come Back” via Blackfire hooked me within the first few seconds. There’s something magnificently uncooked. The guitars are loud and a little tight around the rims, as a proper storage stone needs to be, with a grungy heaviness underneath that gives the whole music a real pulse. And that male voice? It sounds like someone clearly way of each sentence, taut and sincere, pulling you right into the track.
What I love most is that nothing feels overproduced. The hard rock punch is there when you need it, the rhythm fits forward, and everything carries that past-night time, house-window-down power that makes you need to crank the volume. It’s the form of a song that you replay without being really sure. If you grew up on classic rock otherwise you will surely miss guitars that sound like real humans gambling in a room, provide that one attention. Blackfire has done something sincere right here, and worthy of more ears. Turn up high and proportion with the sail.
