Cosmic Anxiety – Rise Up: A Powerful New Music 🎶

August 16, 2026

Berlin-Based Electronic Music with a DIY Sound 🎧

Cosmic Anxiety is a Berlin-based electronic project formed by Eli and Gasher in October 2025. With Eli handling vocals and Gasher creating most of the beats using a Synthstrom Deluge, the duo combines dark electronic sounds with politically charged songwriting.

Inspired by artists such as Rage Against the Machine and the Berlin goth/darkwave scene, Cosmic Anxiety creates music centered on politics, queer identity, resistance, and social change. Their sound blends electronic production with raw vocals and DIY creativity, including contributions recorded by friends on their phones. With their debut live performance scheduled for September 12 at a queer festival in Berlin, Cosmic Anxiety is developing a distinctive voice through uncompromising new music.

Cosmic Anxiety – “Rise Up” Review

Cosmic Anxiety‘s “Rise Up” comes through the static like a reducing sign flame. From the primary vein of its synths, the track wears its 80s to proud effect — icy arpeggios, riding basslines, and a production sheen that feels unfashionably forceful and razor-sharp for today. The male vocals bring real heft right here, shifting between vulnerability and defiance outside of ever losing their pop attitude, using electronic grooves like they were born for it.

What unites this music aside is its refusal to live simply danceable. Something political and urgent sits beneath the dark-pop shimmer, turning the hook into an excess of rallying cry rather than a chorus. It’s a rare tune that gets bodies shifting at the same time and still utters something worth listening to. Cosmic Anxiety threads the needle between alternative pop experimentation and the perfect dance floor and electricity, and “Rise Up” is proof that this artist knows the right way to land rendering. An ambitious, surprising addition to any playlist.
