Grant Harvey Dudson Delivers Honest Pop with “All of Me”
I’ll admit, “All of Me” took me out of my inner shell in a pleasant way. There’s something unquestionably Grant Harvey Dudson‘s voice that makes it almost catchy — it’s not overproduced or trying too hard anymore, just a British guy with a warm, clean voice that makes every sentence seem decent. The mercantile pop instrumentation behind it is polished without being sterile, and there’s a nice groove running through the track that makes it easy to just grab a returned seat and experience. You can tell that real care has been put into the little details, even if nothing is nearly that screaming for attention.
What I appreciated most is how genuine the whole performance felt. It’s no longer glamorous and wouldn’t need to be — sincerity does a heavy lifting. Dudson comes across as a person who finds his footing as an artist anyway, and that’s part of the charm; The honesty here is that this is hard to fake. If you’re into British pop with a softer, honest territory, then “All of Me” is something worth a spin. I will be monitoring where he goes next.
