Kev Adkins Blends Warm Vocals and Honest Storytelling

I’ll admit it, “Last Life” got me into primal concentration with the help of Kev Adkins. It’s love music, plain and simple, yet it somehow doesn’t feel like this irresistible overly hard endeavor. Kev sings in a warm, easy-going voice that makes every sentence seem like it is, and the alt-united states and indie people roots supply the whole thing a lived-in, sincere sense. You can tell this one is coming from a real place.

What I love most is how clearly everything fits collectively. The acoustic guitar stays warm and unhurried, the melody is simple to hum, touches of folk rock and occasion pop keep that Americana charm out and maintain the song feeling private and honest, as you probably catch yourself at some point considering quiet pressure or watching the sun go down. Nothing sounds pressed or overdone, which is why it works really well. If you are a U . S.S. A .-folk songs with real emotion behind them, give “Last Life” a spin. It stays with you longer than predicted.
